Caroline von Gall

Caroline von Gall is a legal scholar in the field of human rights, international law, comparative constitutional law with a special focus on Eastern Europe and authoritarianism.

She is currently a visiting professor at the University of Mannheim and a Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences / Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe (KFG) „Universalism and Particularism in European Contemporary History“ at LMU, Munich. Before, she was a associate professor for public law at Goethe University, Frankfurt (2022-24)and a guest professor for international and public Law at Freie University Berlin(2020-2022) as well as at the University of Göttingen (2025). From 2012-2020 she was junior professor at the University of Cologne. The holds a PhD in comparative constitutional law and received her habilitation in international human rights law at the University of Cologne in 2021.
